West Virginia is now 1-1 vs. Duke in the Tournament.  Duke defeated West Virginia in the 1989 second round.

Duke fails to make the Sweet Sixteen for the second consecutive year after going for 9 straight years.  The last time that Duke missed the Sweet Sixteen two consecutive years was 1995-1997 when they missed three straight.

Duke loses as a higher seed for the 5th consecutive year.  It ties a tournament record set by Texas from 2003-2007, Florida from 2001-2005, Cincinnati from 1996-2000, Arizona from 1989-1993, Illinois from 1986-1990 and Purdue from 1984-1988.

West Virginia is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 7th time.  It is also their 3rd in 4 years.  They have been to the Sweet Sixteen each of their last 4 tournament appearances.

Bob Huggins is in his 5th Sweet Sixteen and first since 2001.  His previous four were all with Cincinnati.

Wisconsin is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 4th time and their first since 2005.

Bo Ryan is in his 3rd Sweet Sixteen - all with Wisconsin.

Wisconsin's 17 point margin of victory is the largest of their 19 victories all-time.

Xavier is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 3rd time and their first since 2004.

Sean Miller is making his first appearance in the Sweet Sixteen.

This is Xavier's first tournament victory against a Big Ten team.  They are now 1-3 vs. the Big Ten.

Washington State is in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time.

Tony Bennett is making his first appearance in the Sweet Sixteen.

Notre Dame's 41 points is their fewest in 63 tournament games.  Their previous low was 50 against Brigham Young in the 1981 Sweet Sixteen.

Notre Dame extends its own tournament record of the most tournament appearances without a championship with 29.  They also have the record for tournament appearances without playing in the championship game.

Stanford is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 4th time and their first since 2001.

Trent Johnson is in his 2nd Sweet Sixteen.  His other appearances was with Nevada.

Stanford is now 1-2 in overtime games.

Marquette is now 1-3 in overtime games.

Stanford's win is the first for a team from California vs. a team from Wisconsin in 5 games.

Kansas is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 24th time and for the 2nd consecutive year.  It is their 6th in the last 8 years.

Bill Self is in his 6th Sweet Sixteen and his 3rd with Kansas.

Kansas is now 5-1 when playing in Nebraska.

Michigan State is now 5-0 vs. teams from the Big East Conference

Michigan State is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 13th time and the 7th time in the last 11 years, but their first since 2005.

Tom Izzo is in his 7th Sweet Sixteen - all with Michigan State.

UCLA is now 25-1 when playing in the state of California.

UCLA is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 31st time and the 3rd consecutive year.  It is their 6th in the last 9 years.

Ben Howland is in his 5th Sweet Sixteen and his 3rd with UCLA.
