Davidson is in the Elite Eight for the 3rd time and the first time since 1969.

Bob McKillop is in the Elite Eight for the first time.

Davidson is the first Southern Conference school since VMI in 1976 to advance to the Elite Eight.

Davidson is the first #10 seed since Kent State in 2002 to advance to the Elite Eight.

The Southern Conference is now 3-11 vs. the Big Ten Conference.  The other two victories were North Carolina over Ohio State 60-57 in the 1946 National Semifinals and Chattanooga over Illinois 75-63 in the 1997 second round.

Davidson is now 1-3 vs. the Big Ten Conference.

Teams from North Carolina are now 4-4 vs teams from Wisconsin.

The 56 points scored by Wisconsin is the fewest that Davidson has allowed in 18 tournament games.  The previous low was 59 vs. Columbia in the 1968 Sweet Sixteen.

Texas is in the Elite Eight for the 7th time and the first time since 2006.

Rick Barnes is in the Elite Eight for the 3rd time - all with Texas.

The Big Twelve Conference is now 12-9 vs. the Pacific Ten Conference.

Teams from Texas are now 3-12 vs. teams from California.  The other two victories were Houston over Pacific 102-91 in the 1966 Regional Third Place Game and Texas Tech over UCLA 78-66 in the 2005 first round.

The Big Twelve Conference is now 11-6 vs. the Big East Conference.

Teams from Kansas are now 6-2 vs. teams from Pennsylvania.

Kansas is in the Elite Eight for the 19th time and the second consecutive year.  It is their 5th Elite Eight appearance in the last 7 years.

Bill Self is in the Elite Eight for the 5th time and the third time with Kansas.

Conference USA is now 2-5 vs. the Big Ten Conference.  The other victory was Cincinnati over Iowa 76-64 in the 2005 first round.

Memphis is in the Elite Eight for the 6th time and the 3rd consecutive year.

John Calipari is in the Elite Eight for the 5th time and the third time with Memphis.

Teams from Tennessee are now 2-3 vs. teams from Michigan.

For the second consecutive year, all #1 seeds have advanced to the Elite Eight.  It is the first time in tournament history that it has happened in two consecutive years.

With North Carolina and Davidson in the Elite Eight, this is the 10th time that the state of North Carolina has had multiple teams in the Elite Eight, but the first time since 1998.  Only California has more multiple Elite Eight bids with 13.
