John Calipari 22-9 (21st most wins)
Bill Self 20-9 (24th most wins)
Ben Howland 17-6 (37th most wins)

This year's final four teams combined for a .934 winning percentage in the regular season.  It is the second highest combined regular season winning percentage of the final four in tournament history.  The highest was 1970 where Jacksonville (23-1), St. Bonaventure (22-1), UCLA (24-2) and New Mexico State (23-2)combined for a .939 winning percentage.

The 127 regular season wins by this year's final four breaks the old record of 112 set in 1999.

With Bill Self making his first final four appearance this year, it marks the 15th consecutive year that a coach is coaching in his first final four.  The record is 16 from 1952-1967.  There were also 15 consecutive years with a new coach in the final four from 1969-1983.

UCLA becomes the 5th team to go to 3 straight final fours without winning the National Championship.  The others are Ohio State (1944-1946), North Carolina (1967-1969), Houston (1982-1984) and Duke (1988-1990)

Memphis is now 1-2 vs. UCLA in the tournament.  UCLA defeated Memphis 50-45 in the 2006 Elite Eight and 87-66 in the 1973 National Championship game.

Memphis is in the Championship game for the 2nd time.  Their other appearance in the championship game was in 1973 when they lost to UCLA.  They are 2-1 in National Semifinal games.

Memphis becomes the first team from Conference USA to advance to the championship game.

UCLA is now 13-5 in National Semifinal games.

The 15 point loss by UCLA is their largest margin of defeat in a National Semifinal game in their history.

This is the third time that Kansas and North Carolina have met in the National Semifinals which is the most between any two teams in tournament history.  The other two meetings were in 1991 and 1993.  This is the fourth meeting between the two in the final four which is also the most between any two teams.  They also played each other in the 1957 championship game.

Kansas is now 2-6 vs. teams ranked #1 in the AP poll in the tournament.

Kansas' victory is the first for a Big Twelve Conference team over a team ranked #1 in the AP poll in the tournament.

Kansas is in the Championship game for the 8th time and the first since 2003.

Kansas is now 2-2 vs. North Carolina in the tournament.

Bill Self and John Calipari are both coaching in their first championship game.  The last time that both coaches were in their first title game was 2002 with Mike Davis of Indiana and Gary Williams of Maryland.

Kansas's 18 point victory over North Carolina is the second largest over a team ranked #1 in tournament history.  Only UCLA's 101-69 victory over #1 Houston in 1968 National Semifinals was bigger.

With North Carolina's loss, it is the 7th consecutive year that the #1 team fails to win the tournament.  Since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1985, only 3 #1 teams have won the tournament (24 years).

The Big Twelve Conference is now 5-10 vs. the Atlantic Coast Conference.
