Louisville is in their 11th Elite Eight and second consecutive.

Rick Pitino is in his 9th Elite Eight and 3rd with Louisville.

Louisville's 103-64 victory is the third largest margin of victory (39) in a Sweet Sixteen game in tournament history.  The two that are larger are UCLA over Wyoming 109-60 in 1967 and Cincinnati over Depaul 99-59 in 1960.

Gonzaga breaks the record for fewest tournament wins in a decade for a team that appeared in every tournament.  They won 11 games from 2000-2009.  Temple won 12 games from 1990-1999 while appearing in every tournament.

The 98 points scored by North Carolina is the most allowed by Gonzaga in 26 tournament games.  The previous high was 96 in the 2003 second round vs. Arizona.
