Michigan State is in their 7th Final Four and first since 2005.

Tom Izzo is in his 5th Final Four - all with Michigan State.  Tom Izzo is 5-1 in Elite Eight games.

Michigan State is the record 44th team from the Big Ten to advance to the Final Four.

Michigan State is now 1-1 vs. Louisville.  They previously lost to Louisville 88-81 in the 1959 Elite Eight.

Michigan State is now 6-0 vs. teams from the Big East Conference.  That is the best record by any team vs. the Big East.

This is Michigan State's 2nd victory over a team ranked #1 in the AP poll.  They are now 2-4 vs. teams ranked #1.  Their other victory was 75-64 over Indiana State in the 1979 National Championship Game.

Michigan State's final four is the 4th this decade which is tied with North Carolina for the most of any team.

Louisville is now 4-5 vs. teams from the Big Ten Conference.

Louisville is now 8-3 in Elite Eight games, but they are 1-3 in their last 4 Elite Eight games.

With Louisville's loss, the team ranked #1 in the AP fails to win the National Championship for the 8th consecutive tournament.  Since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1985, only 3 #1 ranked teams have won the touranment in 25 years.

North Carolina is in their 18th final four which ties UCLA for the most all-time.  This is also their 2nd consecutive final four.

Roy Williams is in his 7th final four and 3rd with North Carolina.  He also becomes the first coach to go to at least 3 final fours with 2 different teams.  He went to 4 final fours with Kansas.
